What is Stock Market Index:

When a measurement of the value

is done in the section of the stock

market then it is called as a stock

index. It is computed from the selected

stocks prices. On the other hand we can 

call it as a tool which used by financial

managers and the investors to give the

information about the market.


Three U.S Stock Index:

1.The Dow :This is a price

weighted inex, and one fo the popular

and oldest stock market index. 

Its a price weighted average of 30 

Significant stocks those listed 

in the NYSE, NASDAQ.


2.S&P500:This is also one of 

the best American stock market

index called the Standard & Poor's

500 or S&P500 having a market

Capitalization of 500 bigger companies

Common stocks listed on NASDAQ

or NYSE. 


3.NASDAQ:This is one of the second 

largeset or biggest excahnge in the world

by the calculation of copitalization of the

market.Was created by NASD to help 

investors to trade securities on a speedy

system. 


4.Russell 2000 Index:Russell 2000 Index 

is a small-cap index of the bottom 2,000 

stocks.Its one of the most common bech

market for the mutual funds that's why identify 

it as a small cap also. It is directly related

to the mesurment of small caps and mid caps

companys share overall performance.
